HGV Bulk Driver

Location: Holmes Chapel 
Reporting to: Transport Manager / Transport Planner

Massey Feeds is a family-run business manufacturing animal feed, and we are looking for an Bulk Driver to join our team.

This is an important role within our business, delivering animal feed safely and efficiently to customers across our trading area. You’ll be the face of Massey Feeds when out on the road, so we’re looking for someone who is reliable, professional and takes pride in both their vehicle and the service they provide.

The role

As an HGV Bulk Driver, your main responsibilities will include:

• Safely and efficiently driving Category C/C+E vehicles
• Delivering animal feed to customers across our trading area
• Loading and unloading vehicles as required
• Ensuring loads are safe, secure and delivered to the correct location
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects or issues
• Complying with all drivers’ hours and Road Transport Directive legislation
• Following UFAS/TASCC requirements and company procedures
• Reporting any suspected quality issues with a load before leaving site
• Planning and adapting routes where necessary and feeding back any issues to the Transport Office
• Operating vehicle systems and equipment as required, including Moffett equipment where applicable
• Completing all paperwork accurately and on time
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety at the depot, on the road and at customer premises
• Acting as a professional ambassador for Massey Feeds when dealing with customers

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who:

• Holds a valid Category C or C+E licence
• Has the relevant Driver CPC and experience of driving HGV vehicles
• Is reliable, responsible and able to work on their own initiative
• Has a strong awareness of health and safety
• Takes pride in providing a good service to customers
• Has good communication skills
• Is able to plan and adapt routes when required
• Is confident completing the necessary vehicle and delivery paperwork
• Takes responsibility for ensuring they are fit to drive at all times

Experience within the agricultural or animal feed industry would be beneficial, but is not essential.
