Forage, Milk and Water Mineral Analysis
Massey Bros (Feeds ) Ltd offer a Forage, Milk and Water Mineral Analysis Service to our customers.
Testing of the forages for the mineral content can prove invaluable for customising on-farm mineral supplements (if used) or, more importantly, deciding which forages may be a risk for milk fever in dry cows.
Milk mineral testing can highlight severe deficiencies or prove adequacy of mineral supply, especially selenium. Customers using our unqiue FiMLAC mineral premix in their feeds have, on averagem 50% higher selenium status of their herd.
Water testing can be very beneficial, especially if a bore hole is used. Changes do occur and this low cost test can highlight any potential issues such as high sulphur content or other imbalances.
