The Dairies, Cow-Sheds and Milk-Shops Order of July 1879
Part 6: Sanitary State of all Dairies and Cow-Sheds

“It shall not be lawful for any person following the trade of cow-keeper or dairyman to occupy as a dairy or cow-shed any building [...] if and as long as the lighting, and the ventilation including air-space, and the cleansing, drainage and water-supply thereof are not such as are necessary or proper

(a) for the health and good condition of the cattle therein...”

The regulations discuss minimum area and height of sheds for milking cows that are still being applied today!

Early Cow Signals©?

Things have moved on a bit since then.  We will be holding several Cow Signals© workshops this Winter.

These “not-to-be-missed” events will take place across our trading area, run by David Wilde, a Certified Cow Signals© Trainer.  The courses are restricted to 10 people per event, so book early to avoid disappointment.

For details of courses in your area, please talk to your local Massey Feeds area manager or David Wilde on 07793 835173.
